Playing the Long Game - The Story of Slam Dunk in North America
Slam Dunk has been wildly popular across Asia—first in the 90s and once again with the release of The First Slam Dunk last year. But in North America, this hasn’t exactly been the case.

I read some of Inoue’s other works like Vagabond and Real before Slam Dunk so the different tones of Slam Dunk really threw me off. This is an interesting read about the long game of this series plus some insight into the challenges of bringing sports manga to a North American audience.

And in my one bit of movie talk, go out and find The First Slam Dunk on Blu-ray or digitally. It’s one of the best basketball movies I’ve ever seen.
